Munchkins After school clubs for 4-11 year olds are perfect for fussy eaters (who are encouraged to try new foods), Keen cooks (who can get hands on and messy in the kitchen!) and Budding chefs (who develop their skills and confidence!).

• Tuesdays (General - 4-11 year olds) 4-5.30pm
• Wednesdays (Beginners 4-7 year olds) 4-5.30pm
• Thursdays (Advanced – 8-11 year olds) 4-5.30pm

Over the term children cover different aspects of healthy eating and cookery techniques through dynamic, hands on sessions. Children work in ability groups, gaining certificates for their progress. At the end of each lesson children will take home what they have made. Parents are invited at the end of term for a certificate ceremony and to taste the results of their children's hard work!

We host Munchkins parties for up to 12 children at our Blackheath Cooks cookery school on Saturday or Friday afternoons.

We can also run Munchkins parties in people’s homes (in the London area) or at other venues (eg church halls for bigger groups of children)

We have 2 party options:

Baking Parties:

Cost: £195 for up to 6 kids, £270 for up to 12 kids
Times: Baking parties are 2 hours long
Included in the cost of the party are:

• Munchkins invitations for you to send to your guests (we’ll post them to you in advance)
• All ingredients and equipment for the cooking
• Aprons and hats for all the cooks to wear during the party
• Water and fruit squash to drink
• A birthday tea consisting of a selection of sandwiches, pizza slices, crunchy vegetable sticks, crisps and fresh fruit.
• A party bag for each guest containing a fabric chefs hat, a mixing spoon, some cookie cutters, a recipe sheet and a chocolate bar.
• Boxes for the cooks to take home their baked goodies.
• Please note we do not provide a birthday cake but you are welcome to bring your own.

Baking Party Menu….choose one thing from:

1. Healthy Muffins (various flavours to choose on the day)
2. Iced Cupcakes (chocolate and vanilla)
3. American style cookies (choc chip and oat n’ fruit)
4. Iced Biscuits (chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon)
5. Bread rolls (brown or white with various toppings)

2-course Meal Parties:

Cost: £240 for up to 6 kids, £320 for up to 12 kids
Times: Meal parties are 2.5 hours long
Included in the cost of the party are:

• Munchkins invitations for you to send to your guests (we’ll post them to you in advance)
• All ingredients and equipment for the cooking
• Aprons and hats for all the cooks to wear during the party
• Water and fruit squash to drink
• A 2-course birthday meal cooked by the kids.
• A party bag for each guest containing a fabric chefs hat, a mixing spoon, some cookie cutters, a recipe sheet and a chocolate bar.
• The birthday cake can be the dessert choice or you are welcome to bring your own.

1. Sushi (Maki rolls, no raw fish!)
2. Pasta from scratch with bolognaise or tomato sauce
3. Pizza from scratch with a choice of toppings
4. Homemade Chicken Nuggets & potato wedges

6. Homemade Fish Cakes & potato wedges

Desserts:

1. Birthday Cake

ORGANIC INGREDIENTS OPTION – for an extra £3 per child, all the main ingredients can be sourced organically.
TRAVEL COSTS – we are happy to do parties outside the local area but we charge travel time at £15 per teacher per hour of travel. Please ask us for a quote.
We take full payment at time of booking. This includes a non-refundable deposit of 50%. We will give a 50% refund or reschedule the party if more than 4 weeks notice of cancellation is given.

Since 2005 we have been developing our Munchkins kids holiday workshops to be the perfect mix of fun and learning, creativity and skills development!

Munchkins workshops are ideal for 4-11 year olds and our differentiated activities are designed to keep kids focussed and entertained throughout the school holidays!

Summer Holidays – During the Summer we offer week-long courses which kids can attend for full or half days. We aim to encourage children’s enjoyment of cooking through lots of hands-on preparation, tasting and experimenting. Summer 2010 involved 6 action-packed weeks of holiday workshops on different themes including ‘Food from the stories of Roald Dahl’, ‘Munchkins Baking School’ and ‘Food from around the World’. Easter Holidays – Our 3 ½ hour Easter holiday workshops offer kids the chance to make traditional Easter themed treats from different cultures as well as tasty seasonal dishes using the best of British spring produce! Check out the dates and bookings page for more details.

Christmas Holidays – Christmas is the ideal time to indulge in cooking for fun! At each workshop children bake delicious festive goodies to take home and share, as well as cooking up their own nutritious lunch or tea. They’ll also get stuck into Christmas-themed games, crafts and activities. Check out the dates and bookings page for more details.

Half Term Holidays – Every half term Munchkins offers a week-long cookery course on a different theme. Kids can do the whole week or just a day. These workshops are a great introduction to cooking for beginners, and a chance for more experienced little chefs to have fun developing their skills and learning new recipes!
